Umarex XBG Carbine and Combat Zone Enforcer Review

The Umarex XBG and the Combat Zone Enforcer are two very similar guns. In fact, they are the aforementioned gun, if you lot ignore the divergence in inner barrel size. The sometime shoots standard 0.177" metal BB's, while the latter shoots standard 6mm airsoft plastic BB's. But other than that difference, there is no other practical differences between the two.

The Umarex XBG and Gainsay Zone Enforcer are loose replicas of the Springfield XDM. The original firearm is manufactured in the metropolis of Karlovac, Croatia by HS Produkt and is called HS2000. The U.S. version of the firearm is licensed past Springfield Armory. All the same, neither the XBG nor the Combat Zone Enforcer are licensed to be exact replicas. However, the Umarex XBG and the Combat Zone Enforcer look very cool. They have a futuristic science fiction look to them.

In this article, we will thoroughly review these two air pistols, side-by-side. We will also throw in the review of the Umarex carbine conversion kit for these two pistols as a existent bonus.

XBG Packaging and Unboxing

The Umarex XBG Carbine comes in an excellent box (encounter photo beneath). The box is not but well designed and pleasing to look at, merely information technology is shut-able, then that you tin can utilise it to shop the BB pistol and the carbine conversion.

The XBG pistol and carbine is stored neatly and orderly inside the box (see photo below). It actually feels like Umarex has placed quality in its height priority list.

Gainsay Zone Enforcer Packaging and Unboxing

The Combat Zone Enforcer comes in a blister pack (encounter photo below), which you accept to cut through to remove everything. The packaging is well designed and looks nifty.

Afterward cutting through the packaging, yous'll observe the pistol, magazine, a handbag of xanthous BB's, and instruction manual (encounter photo below).

Pistols

The two pistols are admittedly identical. The but difference is that the airsoft version has an orange tip on information technology. Otherwise, you can see from the 2 photos below that there are no differences.

The but other visible difference is the proper name and BB specification (see photos beneath) that are engraved on the 2 air guns.

The only external difference betwixt the 2 air pistols are the front nozzle (see photo below). The XBG BB pistol is not mandated past constabulary to require the orange tip. The Combat Zone Enforce needs the orange tip for commerce per federal law. Both guns have lower Picatinny rails for you to adhere accessories.

The safe switch is in a strange bad-mannered position. It is on the right, in a higher place the trigger (see photo below). So you'll have to use your index (trigger) finger to active it. Pull it back to put it into semi-auto firing manner. Push information technology forrad for safety. It's pretty easy to activate in one case you lot get used to it. The safety switch differs from the real HS2000 firearm. The HS2000 has a rear grip rubber, which is very similar to the M1911 pistol.

The font atomic number 26 sight has a brilliant white dot, while the rear iron sight is unmarked (see photograph below). But they are pretty typical of iron sights on pistols.

Magazines

The XBG magazine and the Combat Zone Enforcer mag are nearly exactly identical. The only departure is that 1 is for metal 4.5mm BB's and the other one is for plastic 6mm BB's. The photo below shows that the only difference on the front side of the two magazines are the identifies for the blazon of BB'due south it accepts.

The back of the magazines are likewise exactly identical every bit shown in the photo beneath. The two magazines are so similar that you tin can insert either magazine into either gun and they volition fit fine. Of course, you won't be able to really utilize them in the wrong gun, because the BB sizes are different.

When you lot slide the spring all the way down, information technology locks in place, allowing you to load BB's through the round opening. Once you take finished loading BB's, push the little nipple at the bottom of the magazine (see photo below) upward and the spring loaded plunger will spring back upward.

The magazines are made out of metal, which feels extremely robust and reliable. They are completely sealed with no way to detach.

Magazine Confusion
Gainsay Zone Enforcer (CZE) shares the same magazine as many other CO2 airsoft pistols on the market. Even so, there are several types of this magazine and they all wait the aforementioned. Not all of them piece of work in the CZE. Run into our "Air Mag C11 Spare Prune $vii.47" article for more details.

Compared to other CO2 airsoft guns, where the CO2 canister is in the magazine, the XBG and Gainsay Zone Enforcer magazines are extremely slim and small. In a mode, information technology makes the pistols fifty-fifty more science fiction like, because there are no magazines today that are this pocket-sized.

CO2 Compartment

The CO2 canister, as well called Powerlet, compartment is in the handgrip. To go to it, yous simply pull open up the handgrip back. Inside, the compartment is made out of metal (meet photograph below). It seems that but the outer trounce of the XBG and Combat Zone Enforcer is made of out plastic polymer. The internals is all metal.

To insert the CO2 cartridge, you have to unscrew the CO2 canister locking spiral (see photograph below). Counter-clockwise unscrews information technology. Subsequently placing the CO2 canister into the compartment, you screw information technology down by turning this locking screw clockwise.

From the experiences I have with CO2 airsoft guns, the Gainsay Zone Enforce is the just CO2 airsoft gun that doesn't leak. It has sat on the shelf with the very offset CO2 canister I secured in it for a month and a half. So far, it all the same fires airsoft BB with that original CO2 canister.

Combat Zone Enforcer Performance

The Combat Zone Enforcer has a fixed hop-up; it is not adaptable. The gun seems to shoot decently in the 20 to xxx feet range. However, at l feet, the BB drop is quite visible.

Carbine Conversion

There is a carbine conversion kit for both of these pistol. It is based on the CAA RONI carbine conversion concept. However, it's expect has no real firearm counterpart, therefore can exist vategorized on the scientific discipline fiction category. It is actually very neat, because it not only turns your pistol into a shoulder-able gun, but gives your pistol a quad-rail interface system. A fore-grip is besides included (see photo below).

The foregrip is ergonomically designed. I am surprised how comfortable and natural it is to hold. It has a quick release push to allow the foregrip to swivel 90 degrees into and out of position. Two quick release buttons on the Picatinny mount allows you to slide it on and off rails. Information technology'southward handy for utilize on multiple guns.

The photograph below shows the XBG or the Combat Zone Enforcer installed in the carbine conversion kit. The foregrip is extended for activeness. The shoulder stock is folded for close-quarters.

The photo below shows the foregrip folded for storage.

The muzzle has screw threads (see photo beneath). I suspect you tin mount silencers and other accessories on it. But without knowing the thread size and pitch, it's hard to source parts for it.

The carbine conversion kit has a beat ejection port (see photo beneath). The air pistols practise non really eject shell. And in fact the shell ejection port is in the wrong location relative to the simulated crush ejection port on the pistols. It is for aesthetics but.

The user manual claims that the rear iron sight is adjustable for windage. Still, I accept been unable to move it with my bare hands.

The carbine conversion kit is made out of plastic. However, information technology'due south pretty hard and sturdy. It's quite comfortable being wielded. It is an fantabulous addition to these unique futuristic pistols.
